Browser Storage, Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy

1. Our privacy-first approach

BowlBrowser does not use cookies or similar technologies to create advertising or browsing profiles, monitor visitors across websites, or analyse individual visitor journeys.

We do not use:

• advertising cookies;
• behavioural-tracking technologies;
• device fingerprinting;
• cross-site tracking;
• marketing tags;
• visitor-recording or session-replay tools; or
• technologies designed to create browsing or advertising profiles.

We do not use browser technologies to collect pet-profile information, liked foods, wellness or health-related entries, free-text information, or other private information for analytics or advertising.

2. Cookie-free aggregate analytics

BowlBrowser uses Cloudflare Insights to understand aggregate website traffic. Cloudflare Insights is configured as cookie-free analytics and does not use the BowlBrowser pet profiles, liked foods, wellness information or other private browser-local information.

This helps us understand aggregate measures such as page requests and referring sources so that we can improve BowlBrowser. It is not used to identify visitors, create behavioural profiles, retarget visitors or personalise advertising.

3. Optional analytics through Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager does not load when you first visit BowlBrowser. It can load only after you make an express choice to allow optional analytics in Cookie settings.

When optional analytics is allowed, BowlBrowser keeps Google advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation denied. BowlBrowser does not use optional analytics to send pet-profile information, liked foods, wellness information or other private data to Google, or to create advertising audiences, retarget visitors or personalise advertising.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings control on this page. If you choose essential technologies only or withdraw optional analytics, BowlBrowser removes the Google Tag Manager script and attempts to remove applicable Google Analytics cookies where your browser permits.

4. Local browser storage

BowlBrowser uses limited browser-local storage to provide features that visitors actively choose to use.

This is not used for advertising or behavioural tracking. Browser-local storage allows information to remain within the browser on the device being used. It enables BowlBrowser to remember information without requiring a BowlBrowser account or storing a separate copy in a BowlBrowser customer database.

5. Pet profiles and liked foods

When you create a pet profile or like a food on BowlBrowser, that information is stored locally within your browser on the device you are using.

This information is used only to provide the features you request, including:

• remembering your pet profiles;
• tailoring food results to the profile you select;
• remembering foods you have liked; and
• restoring those profiles and likes when you return using the same browser and device.

Your pet profiles and liked foods are not used to:

• identify you personally;
• analyse your browsing behaviour;
• create a marketing or advertising profile;
• track you across websites;
• measure website engagement; or
• serve personalised advertising.

BowlBrowser does not hold a separate server-side copy of your locally saved profiles or liked foods.

6. How long locally stored information remains available

Your pet profiles and liked foods will normally remain stored in your browser indefinitely unless they are removed.

They may be removed when:

• you delete a pet profile;
• you remove a food from your liked foods;
• you clear BowlBrowser's site data or browser storage;
• you clear cookies and other site data in your browser;
• you use private or incognito browsing;
• you uninstall, reset or reconfigure your browser;
• you reset or replace your device; or
• your browser removes locally stored information because the device is critically short of storage space.

BowlBrowser asks your browser to treat locally stored profile information as persistent when you save a pet profile. This reduces the risk of the browser removing it automatically, but the browser and device ultimately decide whether locally stored information is retained.

BowlBrowser cannot guarantee that locally stored information will always remain available.

7. Clearing your information

You can remove information stored by BowlBrowser by:

• deleting individual pet profiles;
• removing individual liked foods; or
• clearing BowlBrowser's site data or locally stored browser data through your browser settings.

Clearing your browsing history alone may not remove your BowlBrowser profiles or liked foods. Depending on your browser, you may also need to select an option such as:

• cookies and other site data;
• site settings and permissions;
• stored website data;
• local storage; or
• browsing data for bowlbrowser.com.

Once locally stored information has been removed, BowlBrowser cannot recover it because we do not hold a separate copy.

8. Different browsers and devices

Information stored locally in one browser does not automatically transfer to another browser or device.

For example, a pet profile created in Chrome on one device may not appear:

• in a different browser on the same device;
• on another computer, phone or tablet;
• after the browser's site data has been cleared; or
• during a private or incognito browsing session.

You may therefore need to create your profiles or like foods again when using a different browser or device.

9. Private and incognito browsing

Information created during a private or incognito browsing session may be removed automatically when that session ends.

The exact behaviour depends on your browser and its settings. BowlBrowser cannot recover profiles or liked foods that your browser removes after a private browsing session.

10. Strictly necessary technical storage

BowlBrowser may use limited storage or access technologies where they are technically necessary to:

• deliver a feature you have requested;
• maintain website security;
• prevent fraud or misuse;
• protect the website from malicious traffic;
• balance website traffic; or
• maintain the reliable operation of the service.

These technologies are not used for advertising, behavioural monitoring or cross-site tracking. Where a technology is strictly necessary to provide a feature requested by the visitor, it may operate without a consent banner. Blocking necessary browser functionality may cause parts of BowlBrowser to stop working correctly.

11. Hosting and security information

Like other websites, BowlBrowser relies on hosting, network, content-delivery and security services to deliver pages and files and to protect the website.

These technical services may temporarily process limited information required to deliver or secure a request, such as:

• an IP address;
• the date and time of a request;
• the page or file requested;
• basic browser or device information;
• security-related request information; or
• information indicating potentially malicious or automated activity.

BowlBrowser does not use this technical information to create browsing profiles, analyse individual visitor journeys, determine visitor interests or deliver targeted advertising. Further information about how personal information is handled is available in our Privacy Policy.

12. Affiliate links and third-party websites

BowlBrowser helps visitors discover and compare products and services available from independent retailers and service providers.

Some links on BowlBrowser may be affiliate links. This means that a retailer or affiliate provider may be able to recognise that a visit or purchase originated from BowlBrowser and may pay BowlBrowser a commission.

BowlBrowser does not use affiliate links to:

• build a profile of your browsing behaviour;
• monitor your wider internet activity;
• identify your interests;
• track you across unrelated websites; or
• serve personalised advertising.

When you select a retailer or provider link, you leave BowlBrowser and visit an independently operated website. That third party may use its own cookies, analytics technologies, tracking pixels, advertising tools or browser storage. BowlBrowser does not control the technologies used by third-party websites. Their use is governed by their own cookie and privacy policies. You should review the relevant retailer's or provider's policies after leaving BowlBrowser.

13. Embedded third-party content

BowlBrowser does not intentionally embed third-party advertising, social-media widgets, videos or other content that places tracking cookies or pixels on your device when a BowlBrowser page loads.

Should BowlBrowser introduce an embedded service that uses non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will review that service and update this policy before activating it. Where consent is legally required, the relevant technology will not be activated until the visitor has made an appropriate choice.

14. Cookie settings and browser controls

Optional Google Tag Manager analytics is off unless you expressly allow it. Your choice is stored locally in this browser as a versioned preference, so that BowlBrowser can remember it. You can revisit that choice at any time.

Most browsers also allow you to inspect, block or remove cookies and locally stored website information. The available controls and terminology vary by browser and device.

Blocking or removing BowlBrowser's local browser storage may:

• delete your pet profiles;
• delete your liked foods;
• prevent BowlBrowser from remembering your selections; or
• stop certain features from working as intended.

Please refer to your browser's privacy or site-data settings for instructions specific to your browser.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when:

• BowlBrowser's functionality changes;
• the technologies used by the website change;
• our hosting or security arrangements change; or
• applicable laws or regulatory guidance change.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. We will not introduce non-essential cookies, advertising technologies or other non-essential tracking tools without first updating the information and consent controls provided to visitors where required.
